Dr. Gregory Pritchard, Music Director of Gwinnett Ballet Theatre, is praised for his dynamic conducting style. NBC News Atlanta’s Wes Sarginson commends his humorous approach with the baton, and the Macon Telegraph’s K.S. Morrison describes him as “well-grounded in orchestral conducting” with a “tasteful and innovative” interpretive sense. 

In his first season as the new Music Director for Gwinnett Ballet Theatre in 2023, Dr. Pritchard, previously a staff conductor and bassoonist with GBT, brings extensive experience. The Music Director of the Gwinnett Symphony Chamber Orchestra since 2010, he also led the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra (GA) for five seasons and showcased his ballet expertise with acclaimed performances at Northeast Atlanta Ballet and Gwinnett Ballet Theatre. 

Dr. Pritchard, with a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Orchestral Conducting from Michigan State University, trained under mentors like Leon Gregorian, Catherine Comet, and Elizabeth Green. His 25-year career includes serving as the Music Director of Opera Company of Mid-Michigan, faculty positions at institutions such as Georgia State University, and conducting roles with orchestras like the Kokomo Symphony Orchestra (IN). 

Dr. Pritchard is proud to lead the Gwinnett Ballet Orchestra as the new Music Director and is actively collaborating with the artistic staff to incorporate a live orchestra into additional performances. His commitment to education is evident as the Fine Arts Department Chair at Gwinnett Online Campus, where he developed an innovative online music curriculum. Additionally, he co-directs the International Conductors Workshop, mentoring aspiring conductors who have gone on to lead top orchestras worldwide.

It is with great honor and profound appreciation that we announce the bestowed title of Conductor Emeritus upon Maestro Predrag Gosta. This recognition is a testament to his extraordinary contributions to the Gwinnett Ballet Theatre Orchestra since its founding in 2006. As we evolve and expand our repertoire, we acknowledge the significant artistry Gosta has brought to our performances during the last 16 years.

Born with an innate passion for conducting, Gosta’s career has been marked by a dedication to excellence and a commitment to musical innovation. He has conducted worldwide, gracing concerts and festivals in numerous countries, including the USA, Mexico, England, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Croatia.

His baton has commanded renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra in Moscow, the St. Petersburg State Capella “Glinka,” and the National Philharmonic in Washington DC, among others. Beyond the symphonic realm, Gosta has made waves in the opera scene, captivating audiences in Europe and the USA with his dynamic and expressive interpretations.

Gosta’s academic pursuits are equally impressive, having served on the faculty of the Oxford College of Emory University in Atlanta and reflecting a commitment to advancing the understanding and appreciation of classical music across generations. His journey continues to inspire, enrich, and elevate the world of classical music, making him a deserving recipient of the title Conductor Emeritus.
